Signs with black text are unrestricted after 4:00 p.m. on weekdays andweekends. Lot signs with red text have unique restrictions.

If you plan to park on campus regularly, we recommend you purchase a parking permit to guarantee space. However, many campus lots are unrestricted after 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends. These lots are highlighted in green on our campus map.

You will see this sign when traffic starts travelling in both directions on the road. This sign is used to warn drivers to expect traffic in both directions. It is used when you travel from a divided road to an undivided road.

This sign tells you that when you are using a motorway entry ramp, there will be a set of traffic lights that may require you to stop before entering the motorway.

The text below the lot assignment number/letter indicates any special lot restrictions. During the times when a lot is restricted, it is only open to vehicles with permits for that lot.

In these instances, temporary signage will be posted in the affected lot(s), and DOTS emails relevant permit holders with details and alternate parking options (if applicable). Make sure the email associated with your parking registration is one you read regularly, and double check that the emails aren’t going to spam or any other folders automatically.

You need to drive slowly ahead because of changes in the road ahead such as the lanes narrow or reduce to a single lane.

The signs are used where there are no traffic control signs for vehicles or pedestrians crossing the tracks. The sign may also show the number of tracks you will cross.

From 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., these lots become unrestricted tofaculty/staff permit holders only. After 8:00 p.m., anyone may park here until7:00 a.m. the next day.

We encourage you to read our parking lot signage carefully, as they mark the boundaries of every parking lot on campus and outline lot restrictions. The following sign characteristics delineate the lot type and restrictions:

On a multi-lane divided road, this sign lets you know that the far left lane is ending. The remaining lanes bend to the left, to allow for a right turn only lane at the next intersection.

A crossing for pedestrians or children is coming up ahead. A crossing ahead sign is only used with a children sign or traffic signal sign.

In addition to our standard lot signage, temporary posted signagecan indicate that a lot is or will have additional restrictions for aspecial event or construction. Please notice these signs as you park your vehicle.
