BP Series Filters are recommended for use with all common LEDs used in machine vision lighting and designed with a broad passband to accommodate the entire output of the LED.  BN Series Filters have a reduced bandwidth for overwhelming ambient light conditions or when greater separation of wavelengths is required.

The spectral output of an LED light source typically follows a normal Gaussian profile. For a machine vision bandpass filter to be most effective its passband should also approximate this bell-shaped curve.
