I've done a SEPIC configuration power supply (Vin = 10~30V, Vo =12V) and I've noticed this pulse skipping mode when I was testing this circuit.

At light load / no load condition the LM378 will enter pulse skipping mode. This can be overcome by adding a dummy load to the output. If this is not desired please look at the LM5155 to replace the LM3478. Thanks, Garrett

My problem is: This high voltage drop when I'm changing from a low load to a high load. With light load the SEPIC is on pulse skipping mode, and then I get the normal switching mode, but with a high voltage drop because of this previous skipping mode.

Pulse skipping cannot be disabled for these boost controllers that employ diode rectifier. It occurs because the required duty cycle at light load is smaller than the min ON time of the controller.  To avoid entering the pulse skipping mode, you can add a dummy load as Garrett mentioned. The required load should satisfy the following:
