Council will be encouraging drivers to slow down on local roads through the installation of temporary ‘Slow Down’ signage, in a trial road safety project that will be conducted on Moruben Road. The aim of these signs is to remind and encourage drivers to slow down and not exceed the urban 50km/h speed limit.

That the temporary corflute signage be trailed from Mandolong Road along Moruben Road with ‘slow down’ messages for a period of 6 weeks and that the efficacy of the messaging be measured with traffic speed technology and the program report be submitted to Council in a report.

As Council is committed to limiting and reducing plastic, the signs are made of a plastic that can be recycled at the end of the life of the signs. The signs will be reused in other locations once the project is approved by Council.

The signs will be a three sided triangular plastic corflute sign that stands 100cm tall. The signs will be fixed to the posts via cable ties and eyelets on the sign to keep them looking neat and tidy.
