I got a snowblower gifted to me that needed some repairs. ( 30" MTD with 305 cc B&S engine ) Amongst the repairs was a headlight that doesn't work. I figured out that the bulb was missing and that someone had run two grounds to the light. So I fixed the power problem and discovered that the replacement bulb is $50!! ( For a BULB!?!? ) I decided to install some LED lights that I had that are rated 9v-36v DC. When first installed the lights worked great. But after putting the plastic covers back on, they only light up while the engine is cranking to start. Once started they do not remain lit. What gives? Where should I start with the fix to this? I know the lights are good because they light up when cranking the motor over. I just don't know which direction to go in to repair what might be broken. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
