Yeah the goal is to make the pop ups less noticed when "up" (out?). Basically, you get the style points when down, and the functionality when up. And at night, there isn't a whole lot to see, so it's not a bad thing if they stick up at night.

Did one of the Oldsmobile's have really small sealed beam units?  I am thinking cutlass. The one they made from a caviler?

I need to know what you guys know as far as getting a very very very small sealed beam headlight. I suppose it does not have to be sealed beam, it would just require me to do more work, but I also want it to look aesthetically nice. And that is because this headlight will be popping up from the body of a car, naked. Think Porsche 928 style.

If it is a street legal car some states only allow DOT legal headlights. When I was getting a Assembly Title for my car  it was one of items mentioned in a meeting I had with local police and a preliminary safety check. Some motorcycle headlights may work for you and be DOT approved.

First car that popped into my mind... but I don't know if they're sealed beams. Plus I think he's looking for a round lamp.
